Despite the uncertainty of these times, solution providers in the employee benefits industry are hard at work creating tools and services. Here are a few that crossed our desk.

Zenefits announced a health care benefits shopping tool, aimed at helping small businesses shop, compare, select and administer health, dental and vision benefits plans — all from one central technology hub.

Unum announced its new hospital insurance is available for quotes with coverage starting in 2021. The revamped hospital product includes options in coverage level with varying price points, compatibility with health savings accounts, a well-child benefit for newborns, and more.

UBERDOC launched UBERDOC for Employers, which provides employees priority access to specialists using their HSA or FSA,  and the ability to directly schedule an appointment with a specialist without additional wait time.

SAP announced the SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking solution. It delivers a real-time view into employees’ time entry, and offers leaders the ability to track and minimize labor costs for both hourly and salaried employees.

Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH) released “Cancer Survivorship: Challenges and Opportunities for Employers,” a new free guide to help HR and benefits leaders fully understand the complex issues associated with cancer survivorship. It highlights the specific challenges survivors may face and provides action steps employers can take to help address these challenges.

MINT Advertising developed a turnkey Planned Intentional Engagement program, or PIE, for small to medium-sized companies to communicate internally with the aim of enhancing employee engagement.

LifeRaft launched its platform of supplemental health options and solutions that cover adverse health outcomes, such as hospitalization, acute medical conditions and complications that require specialized medical treatment. The benefits from these policies go directly to the respective policy holders in cash, who can use the money for whatever they need.

Gallup and the Lightkeeper Group announced they are creating a global survey measuring citizens’ perceptions of stress — the World Stress Index. They are designing the questions for the World Stress Index in consultation with leading experts. The questions will then be translated into multiple languages and added to the Gallup World Poll, the same survey vehicle used to collect United Nations Sustainable Development Goal metrics in 140 countries and areas.

EHE Health announced Thrive Now, a mobile health app designed to help improve maternal and infant health.The app includes connections to EHE resources that help with appointment scheduling, preparing for health exams, and more.

ConnectWell and Outgrow introduced a suite of turnkey interactive digital health tools designed to re-engage, educate, and connect people to care. The companies co-developed the new virtual tools for health care providers, health plans, employers, and benefits providers seeking to re-engage those they serve.

Amazon Web Services announced Amazon HealthLake, a HIPAA-eligible service that aims to help organizations such as health care systems, pharmaceutical companies, health insurers, and more to spot trends and anomalies in health data so they can make more precise predictions about the progression of disease, the efficacy of clinical trials, the accuracy of insurance premiums, and many other applications.
