MADISON, Wis. – Dimensions, a CUNA Mutual Group magazine for credit union executives and managers, was a big winner at the 2001 Silver Quill Awards, which is sponsored by the International Association of Business Communicators. "I'd like to think winning these kinds of awards is a proxy of sorts for marketplace effectiveness," said Dimensions Editor and Publications Director Glenn Deutsch. The bi-monthly magazine has been presented a first place award of excellence for design in 2000; an award of excellence for writer Tom Kobinsky's feature story on Jeff Pantages and his fixed income team at MEMBERS Capital Advisors "Bond Ability"; and a merit award in the category of Marketing/Branding Communication for 2000. According to Deutsch, Dimensions writers and photographers work together and try to find a unique angle on stories. "For Kobinsky's award winning story for example, we asked ourselves how Worth or Smart Money or another top newsstand personal finance or business magazine would portray Jeff and his staff if one of their reporters and freelance photographers swooped in, and we took it from there," said Deutsch. Dimensions' art director is Tom Senatori of Art Associates, a unit of Waldbilig & Besteman, Madison; managing director is Tom Burton of the CUNA Mutual publications department and production director is Kris Pongratz of print management in the CUNA Mutual support services division.
