HACKENSACK, N.J.-Privacy and American Business and the Association of Corporate Privacy Officers plan to release two surveys this fall regarding corporate privacy officers (CPOs) and how the public perceives them. The studies will look into CPO's duties and salaries and measure how the general public fells about companies with appointed CPOs. The first survey will encompass the challenges CPOs face both internally and externally, their accomplishments, and their daily roles and responsibilities. It will also study how CPOs can affect a company's business plans, information practices, and business-consumer relationships. The second survey will deal more with the public's perception of CPOs and their organizations. It will seek the public's level of trust in companies with CPOs, as well as the decision to do business with the company, how it creates better privacy practices, and which industry needs CPOs the most. The study will include 1,000 American adult respondents.
