Fort Lee Federal Credit Union, Prince George, Va., has awarded PWCampbell its design/build contract to renovate its main office. The facility will provide members with enhanced retail and drive-up services. In addition, the renovations will improve operational efficiency. Construction is expected to be completed by Spring 2002. Fort Lee FCU serves over 9,000 members and has $43 million in assets. Robins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., has broken ground on a new branch in Gray, Ga. The Gray branch will offer a wide range of financial services including drive-thru tellers, ATMs and a full service loan department. Construction is expected to be completed by October 2001. RFCU has over $540 million in assets and serves over 131,000 members. Team One Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., has celebrated the grand re-opening of its remodeled main office. Participating in the event festivities included the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce, Saginaw School Board of Education, Saginaw PRIDE, and of course members. The credit union staff treated members to free hot dogs, soda and great prizes. Also on site was AAA Insurance providing child ID fingerprinting and pictures. Power Federal Credit Union, Syracuse, N.Y., has held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Utica branch. The ribbon was made up of 100 $5 bills and was donated to the St. Elizabeth's Hospital Foundation after the ceremony. PFCU serves more than 28,000 members and has $205 million in assets. Redstone Federal Credit Union, Huntsville, Ala., has broken ground on its new main office and branch facility. The new three-level 73,367 square-foot facility is scheduled to begin operation during the third quarter of 2001. The first phase, which is the new drive-thru is scheduled for completion in July 2001. The new building will house a full service branch and administrative offices. The existing building will be renovated to facilitate the remaining support department and to provide accommodations for community and public use. Community Trust Credit Union, Gurnee, Ill., has celebrated the grand opening of its North Grayslake branch. Kicking off the celebration, members were invited to take part in the Community Trust Grand Discovery event. Attendees took a key and an opportunity to unlock a treasure chest filled with two $1,000 CDs, and a one-year membership to Gold's Gym. Employees donned safari gear complete with pith helmets while handing out refreshments and door prizes including McDonald gift certificates, Amoco gas certificates, and Community Trust Treasure Wear. IBM Texas Employees Federal Credit Union, Austin, has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new North Austin branch. Past and present credit union volunteers, management and employees gathered at the construction site to mark the day. When completed, the more than 10,000 square-foot building will feature full lobby services, three drive-up ATMs and a lighted 24-hour ATM vestibule. The second floor will also house part of the credit union's support functions. University of Virginia Community Credit Union, Charlottesville, has awarded a $1.288 million contract to HBE Financial Facilities to construct a 4,430 square-foot branch in Albemarle County. Located in the historic Peer Jefferson-Thomas Jefferson's father-district, the one-story branch will feature white brick exterior with a pitched roof and three drive-up lanes and one ATM. Construction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2001. Marshall Community Credit Union, Marshall, Mich., has awarded a contract to HBE Financial facilities to renovate the CU's existing 4,330 square-foot main office and to construct a 5,140 square-foot addition. The addition will match the existing building and will include a new vestibule, lobby, greeter and member service areas, a safe deposit vault and such amenities as a television and adjoining childrens' area. Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2001. Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, Tenn., has awarded a $1.6 million contract to HBE Financial Facilities for a new Morristown branch. The one-story, 5,920 square-foot office will feature a barrel-vaulted roof with an open layout that includes a reception area, six teller stations and space for five member service officers. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2001. People's Community Credit Union, Vancouver, Wash., has celebrated the ground breaking of its new Orchards branch by planting the official state tree, a Western Hemlock. The Orchards branch will feature a drive-up window and no-surcharge ATM. Mayor Royce Pollard participated in the tree planting festivities. The new branch will be open late summer 2001. FAA Employees Credit Union, Oklahoma City, has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new corporate headquarters. The facility is a 27,000 square-foot, two-story brick structure complete with administrative offices, a full-service branch with eight teller stations, four drive-thru lanes and a drive-up ATM. State Employees Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., has selected PWCampbell to develop its State Street retail branch outlet. The new facility will have retail areas devoted to self -service, investment products and other traditional credit union products. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of fourth quarter 2001. Members 1st Federal Credit Union, Mechanicsburg, Pa., has held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its York branch. The full-service branch features three drive-thru lanes, a drive-up ATM and lobby area. During the grand opening festivities local radio station WYCR 98.5 FM held a live broadcast and attendees tried their luck at winning the $1,000 cash giveaway prize. Capital Communications Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., has started renovations on a branch in North Greenbush. The branch will include two drive-up lanes and state-of-the-art equipment for accessing accounts and performing transactions. A grand opening is anticipated for the fall of 2001. Horizons Federal Credit Union, Binghamton, N.Y., has broken ground on its new 12,000 square-foot headquarters. The new building, designed by HBE, complements nearby residences and commercial structures and once complete the first floor will have a drive-up window, a 24-hour ATM vestibule, six-station teller line, four loan offices, two member service offices and a conference room. The second floor will house administration areas, a board/training room, accounting department, phone center and employee lounge. Construction should be completed in the spring of 2002. Carolina Mountains Credit Union, Brevard, N.C., has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new branch at Penrose Business Park. The new 5,200 square foot branch, designed by PWCampbell will house two drive-up lanes and a drive-up ATM, four teller stations including a handicap access teller line and private loan offices. Community First Credit Union, Appleton, Wis., has held the grand opening of its Oshkosh branch. The 7,900 square-foot facility will feature drive-up banking and full-service drive up ATM. Part of the Westowne Center Development, the branch is located next to such stores as Menard's Home Improvement, Festival Foods, Wendy's and Culver's Restaurant to name a few. Community First CU serves over 49,000 members and has more than $368 million in assets. Members Choice Credit Union, Houston, Texas, has broken ground for its fifth location. The facility will feature four drive-thru teller lanes, a drive-up ATM, night depository and full lobby service. Completion is scheduled for mid-summer.
