The double spread testimonial advertisement in this issue, entitled, "Credit Union Times has covered NAFCU for 12 years," (on pages 62-63) highlights our ability to cover for our readers a multitude of important credit union educational conferences throughout the year. It is not unusual for most credit union publications to devote space to credit union meetings. However, because Credit Union Times is a weekly, we can cover a greater variety of credit union meetings and we can do so much faster than CU periodicals published only monthly or bimonthly. If something newsworthy takes place at a conference involving CUs, it is reported in Credit Union Times within days, not weeks and months later when conference happenings are a distant memory at best. Also, because we are committed to an editorial product that is newsworthy, you won't find endless stories on any one conference for weeks on end in an obvious attempt to fill space as some credit union publications do on a regular basis. Frankly, not every conference speaker says something that is of interest to our readers. Only the most important and interesting conference news makes it on to our news pages, even though we publish hundreds more pages than our nearest competitor. There's another difference even more important. Because Credit Union Times is the only credit union publication that is completely independent, our reporting on meetings is objective and unbiased, without the PR spin you would expect to read in the publications put out, for example, by the conference sponsor. Watch for coverage of the NAFCU Annual Conference and Exhibition next week. We've got it covered.
