WASHINGTON-CUNA wrote a letter to Federal Reserve Consumer and Community Affairs Director Sandra F. Braunstein recommending six credit union representatives to the Fed's Consumer Advisory Council. The council consists of credit union, bank, and thrift representatives from each of the 12 regions of the Federal Reserve System. "All of these individuals merit the Board's consideration, as they are articulate, financial institution leaders who are actively involved in consumer affairs and related issues," CUNA wrote. "We believe any one of them would make an outstanding contribution to the work of the Council, and we urge your careful review of these nominees." CUNA recommended President and CEO of Brockton CU in Brockton, Mass. James Blake, People for People CDCU (Philadelphia) Chairman Reverend Herbert Lusk, Clinchfield FCU CEO of Erwin, Tenn. Sandy Lingerfelt, President and CEO of Dupaco Community CU in Dubuque, Iowa Robert Hoefer, CEO of CommunityAmerica CU in Kansas City, Mo. Dennis Pierce, and President and CEO of Deseret First CU in Salt Lake City Kris Mecham.
