TULSA, Okla. – Since being given the green light by the NCUA, federally-chartered Oklahoma credit unions have been able to cash nonmember checks for people stuck here due to the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C. Don Klein, director of NCUA's region five supervision division, gave credit unions the ability based on two conditions – that it must be a no-fee service and it only lasts until travel restrictions are lifted.
