NEW YORK-According to reports in the American Banker, Neil Levin, a former New York banking superintendent, was still missing Friday following the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and presumed dead. Levin, 46, was serving as the executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at the time of the attack, the article said. The Port Authority was headquartered in the World Trade Center. He had only recently taken the top post at the Port Authority. He also served as the New York state's insurance commissioner at one point. Levin left his mark all across the financial services industry from working as legislative counsel to former Senate Banking Committee Chairman Alfonse M. D'Amato (R-N.Y.) to Goldman Sachs & Co. and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
