Many of us remember seeing blurry, slow motion images over Web sites in the days when viewing video over the Web was nothing more than a pipe dream. But increases in bandwidth and something called streaming video has changed all that. Prior to streaming video, an entire file would have to be downloaded before viewing. Streaming sends packets of data that are played as received by the computer. According to IDC, streaming video is expected to increase distant learning sales to $7.1 billion by 2002.
