Long-time readers of Credit Union Times will find something very familiar in this issue, yet something very different. In this our 51st and final issue of the year is our traditional Year In Review section. This section chronicles the major news events of the year. It is a virtual highlight film in print of the most important stories affecting credit unions. What's different this year is the size of the report (14 pages is an all-time record) and how it's put together. Instead of longer Year in Review stories as in years past, the 2001 edition features short, punchy stories complemented by a slew of photos that help paint a picture of the news. This blockbuster Year in Review section reflects two things in my mind: the credit union industry has become a hot bed for news, and Credit Union Times is providing the most comprehensive coverage of this increasingly newsworthy industry.
