LYNCHBURG, Va. – Philip Chenault, retired president of Virginia Cooperative FCU and a long-time Virginia Credit Union League employee passed away last month after a 15-year battle with cancer. He was 51. Chenault's 28-year career with the League began in 1973 when he was hired as a field representative in the Richmond area. He later became the League's vice president of financial services and COO of League Corporate. Chenault was also active on a number of state and national boards while he worked with the League, including the Operating Advisory board of the Federal Reserve Bank, US Central CU, and the Corporate Credit Union Forum. Funeral services were held Nov. 29.
