MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Financial Institutions voted unanimously to recommend passage of Assembly Bill 650 – the "Next Economy" bill. A.B. 650 is a direct result of the Gov. Scott McCallum's Feb. 28th Summit on Venture Capital. The bill is designed to change the state's corporate fee structure to make it more competitive with other states; change the state's corporate statutes to make it easier for limited liability companies and domestic corporations to convert from another forms, and to merge and restructure; and change the state's securities law to promote capital formation. The bill is supported by state Reps. Suzanne Jeskewitz (R-Menomonee Falls) and Jeff Plale (D-South Milwaukee) and Department of Financial Institutions Secretary John Kundert.
