<p>RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Bill Hampel, chief economist at CUNA will debate outspoken credit union critic Keith Leggett, senior economist for the ABA on credit union field-of-membership, taxation, community reinvestment and alternative capital at the California Credit Union League's Big Valley Educational conference, March 14-16. Sessions will also be held on increasing consumer awareness of identify theft; how credit unions can compete with low- and zero-percent auto financing offers; and how small credit unions can take advantage of resources available to them. Bob Arnould, California League vice president for State Governmental Affairs, and Mary Lou Heighes, president, Compliance Inc., will also lead a session on privacy legislation CUs can expect to see in 2002.</p>
