SANTA FE, N.M. – State legislators, staff and visitors here are enjoying a surcharge-free ATM courtesy of 56 credit unions. Requested by employees, the CU Anytime machine is the first ATM in the capitol building since 1996. "The employees contacted their local credit union-State Employees Credit Union of Santa Fe-asking if there was any way a machine could be installed in the building," said CU Anytime President Don Gray. "State Employees Credit Union then called us to see if this was a possibility, and through a cooperative effort of New Mexico credit unions, we were able to get it done." The machine will remain in service even after the legislative session has ended. According to Gray, "In this case, we felt it was important that the ATM remain in service on a year-round basis." CU Anytime has 19 participating institutions with more than 120 ATMs in New Mexico plus 2 in California.
