<p>RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – John Merlo, president/CEO of Premier America CU was elected chairman of the board of CU Direct Corp. Merlo has served as a board director since September 1998 and was chairman/treasurer until June 2000, at which time he became vice chairman. Diana Dykstra, president/CEO of Vandenberg FCU, succeeds Merlo as vice chairman. She was instrumental in the creation of CU Direct Corp. and served as a board director from December 1994 to November 1997, and again from June 2000 to the present. Jim Harris, executive vice president, The Golden 1 CU, was appointed by the board to fill a vacant director position. Harris previously served as a board director from December 1994 to June 2000. The reorganization of CU Direct's Board was necessitated because of the resignation of Stan Hollen, former chairman of the board of CU Direct and former president/CEO of The Golden 1 CU.</p>
