There are few things I value more, as both a journalist and an employee, than leadership by example.
I know, I know. There are as many types of good leaders out there as bad. I'm just throwing in my two cents. There's nothing I find more genuine, and inspiring, in a leader.
So maybe that's why a couple of press releases in particular stood out from the crowd of them that typically assaults my e-mail server. It seems a couple of companies in our space earned some national praise for doing, not just telling.

The National Business Group on Health gave a big shout out to both Unum and Fiserv for being two of the best employers for promoting healthy lifestyles. Only 52 companies across the country earned honors. Far be it from me to sit around and pine wistfully about carriers (or tech firms), but both companies have done more than talk about wellness. They're actually doing it. And that kind of leadership deserves more than just another press release.
Speaking of leadership, I'd also like to remind everyone to fill out a nomination for our first Brokers of the Year issue, hitting desks everywhere in August. No one knows better than you who the best brokers in our business are. Now, c'mon, share with the rest of the class. .
