President Obama signed his fist bill into law today, as he signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the New York Times reports. The Act makes it easier for employees to sue based on discrimination, extending the statute of limitations to 180 after each discriminatory paycheck.
The House on Tuesday passed it on a 250-177 vote, the Times writes. The Senate approved it by 61-36 votes.
The Act doesn't change the current limit on back pay; claimants are entitled to up to two years of back pay.
