Aflac has been named on FORTUNE magazine's Best Places to Work For list for the 13th straight year, coming in at No. 57, and is the only insurance company to remain the list for that time frame, according to the Great Place to Work For Institute.
"We are proud that Aflac is the only insurance company to appear for 13 consecutive years on FORTUNE's list of Best Places to Work For," Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos says. "This unique milestone illustrates a workplace consistency that is hard to find at many companies. It is a tribute to our belief that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of the business."
Among the various categories, Aflac comes in at No. 3 for childcare benefits and received special attention for Aflac's on-site program for employees. Aflac also sits at No. 22 for diversity.

In selecting the 100 Best Companies to Work For, FORTUNE partnered with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct an employee survey among 311 companies. The Institute's trust index survey, which is sent to a random employee sampling, determines two-thirds of a company's score. The survey focuses on employee attitudes toward management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie.
A company's responses to the Institute's culture audit determines the other third of the score. Questions cover pay and benefit programs and also include a series of open-ended questions regarding hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts. All companies at least seven years old with more than 1,000 U.S. employees are eligible.
The February issue, which is available Monday, Jan. 24, features the complete list as well as related stories. The list is also currently published online at FORTUNE magazine's website.
