Four of the nation's leading long term care insurance companies have partnered with the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI) to undertake a springtime consumer awareness campaign.
The campaign involves placing a special eight-page consumer guide into all May editions of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine.
"The guide will address questions most often asked by consumers considering how to help protect their family and finances against a long term care event" said AALTCI executive director Jesse Slome in a statement.

According to Kiplinger's readership data, approximately 2.4 million consumers will see the industry-sponsored insert that starts arriving in homes in early April.
Genworth Financial, John Hancock, Mutual of Omaha, and Prudential are participating in the campaign along with the AALTCI.
"This is the Association's latest undertaking designed to educate millions of Americans about the need to develop a plan for long term care with their financial professional," Slome adds. A prior consumer guide ran in the November 2010 issue of Kiplinger's during Long-Term Care Awareness Month.
Founded in 1998, the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance is the national trade organization established to educate both consumers and financial professionals about the importance of long term care planning.
