At a time when the very basis is employer-paid health plans is being called into question, there's no better vehicle for employees to protect their own health insurance future.

The proposed Medical Flexible Spending Account Improvement Act would allow employees to withdraw and pay taxes on whatever's left in their medical flexible spending accounts instead of making them surrender the balances to employers, as it stands right. This long-overdue fix to the current law is certain to drive enrollment.
Sure, there's a lot more to these plans than this, but that's where you come in. This is the perfect chance for you to restart this conversation with your employees. With reform threatening everyone's security – and retirement more of a gamble than ever – employees need to take advantage of every opportunity they can to take control of their own health care destiny.
And you need to be the one to show them the way.
