The FreeERISA Daily Newsletter is now BenefitsPro Daily, and I've got my own blog. I'm moving up!
I wanted to do a whole retrospective on the old newsletter, talk about the transience of change, the indomitable passage of time, but my editor told me that I was obsessed with yesterday and didn't care about tomorrow.
So what's this blog all about? Well, I'm the FreeERISA Insider. I know everything there is to know about the world's premier employee benefits and retirement data website. I can tell you the most commonly used passwords, I can tell you the most popular 5500s, and I can tell you where FreeERISA came from in the first place. This blog is about exploring the ins and outs of what this means, and answering some reader questions.

So I'm starting with the basics. Of the 744,337 registered users on FreeERISA, 3,502 of you have your password set to the word, "password." Really? Come on. It's not the lack of security that irks me, it's the lack of imagination. My go-to password is 12345.
Anyway, of the 401,491 individual form 5500s users checked out last month on FreeERISA, the Lockheed Martin pension plan jumps to the top of the search list as the most popular one, with 166 inspections. Established in 1942 amidst a world in dire need of properly compensated aerospace workers, this plan is hot to trot for anyone looking to get their hands on it's $19.9 billion assets.
Next week, I want to talk a bit about where FreeERISA came from. Contrary to popular belief, it was NOT a failed Disney script about liberating a waifish ingénue named Princess Erisa.
Other topics we'll hit over the coming weeks are how to get the most out of FreeERISA, what new projects we're working on, and my thoughts on the latest episode of Fox's hit genre-defining musidramedy, Glee.
