PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Senate has passed a bill that would allow out-of-state health insurance companies to issue policies in Arizona.
The bill allows insurers licensed by Arizona to drop specific mandated coverage if an out-of-state company doesn't provide the mandated coverage in a policy issued in Arizona.
The state's coverage mandates include minimum allowed hospital stays for women giving birth and access to treatments for autism.

Supporters said the changes would help employers secure less expensive insurance for their employees. Opponents said it'd leave some people without coverage for needed care.
The bill now goes to the governor.
