While nearly all top HR decision-makers are concerned about health care costs’ effects on employees and on overall corporate costs, only 16 percent would like to see a federally tax-funded health care system implemented. The data, from the 2011 UBA Benefit Opinions Survey, were consistent regardless of industry, employee size category or geographic region.
The survey also found that 96.9 percent of employers still believe a good benefits program helps draw in quality employees while 93.8 percent believe offering good benefits is key to keeping those employees. Employers also say they are not fully prepared for the complex legislative and regulatory requirements placed upon them.
Still, nearly 75 percent of the employers said they would like government to require the disclosure of cost and quality information of hospitals and physicians.
