BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota lawmakers are setting aside money to give state government workers 3 percent pay increases for each of the next two years.

The raises are part of the state Office of Management and Budget's spending plan. Negotiators finished the bill Thursday. It now goes to the full House and Senate for approval.

Last month, a Senate committee approved a 4 percent raise in the first year, followed by a 1 percent raise. State employees would have earned slightly less under that plan.

The 3 percent per year increases are in line with Gov. Jack Dalrymple's budget recommendations.

State workers will receive their next pay increase on July 1 if the budget is approved.
