Employers recruited a 10-year high percentage of their interns for full-time positions last year, according to a survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
The survey showed that 58 percent of interns became full-time employees, the highest conversion rate seen since NACE began tracking trends in 2001.
The findings show interning is proving to be a direct career path for more students, and also that interns are showing more willingness to accept full-time job offers.

Last year, 86.5 percent of interns offered a full-time position accepted it, up from 2009, when 83.9 percent of interns accepted job offers.
"This suggests that students were somewhat wary about the job market and opted to take the offer rather than gamble that something better would come along," said Marilyn Mackes, executive director for NACE.
