Over the years, FreeERISA has tried a lot of things to make lead generation more effective, like plan-type searches and the Whack-a-Health-Plan Flash game.
Despite our best efforts, few things remain as popular as the ability to pull up benefit and retirement plans by ZIP code.
It makes sense, when you think about it. If you live and work in Cincinnati, why would you want to sell in Knoxville? Then again, who wants to live and work in Cincinnati?

Let's say I wanted to prospect for new business the old fashioned way: with a phone book. According to the typity light box on my desk, there are 1,038 businesses in my ZIP code, covering roughly four square miles.
Time to break out the abacus. Assuming that all businesses in my ZIP are arranged in a perfect grid, there would be 32 businesses on each side of the square, which itself is two miles on each side, meaning that each business is roughly 165 feet away from each neighbor. To visit each business, you would need to cross the length of the ZIP the equivalent of 33 times: that's 66 miles.
Of course, with the power of FreeERISA, I can cut out the restaurants, banks, FedEx Kinkos, mafia fronts, and other companies that wouldn't offer an employee benefit plan. I could even narrow my search down to just one plan type. Now instead of needing to make more than a thousand stops, I can focus my search down to 182 potential prospects.
With FreeERISA you could easily bang out a ZIP code in an afternoon.
