Marketing advisory firm Eastbridge Consulting Group announced Tuesday it has recognized CIGNA as a leader in voluntary sales growth for 2010.

CIGNA's voluntary sales were $5.243 billion, down about three percent compared to 2009, according to Eastbridge's annual U.S. Worksite Sales Report.

"Annually, we recognize those companies that led the industry in voluntary sales growth," says Gil Lowerre, president of Eastbridge. "This year, among large companies ($30+ million in voluntary sales), CIGNA was the fastest growing company based on voluntary sales."

Eastbridge notes not all companies selling voluntary saw decreased growth. In fact, the number of companies with increases exceeded the number with decreases.

"Eastbridge would like to congratulate CIGNA for a job well done," adds Lowerre. "It's not easy in today's market to beat the industry averages for three consecutive years. This company has achieved that level of success."

All companies participating in Eastbridge's annual U.S. Worksite Sales Report are eligible to win the Sales Growth Leader recognition. To make the list for consideration, a company must have exceeded the growth rate of the industry as a whole for each of the last three years and lead in 2010 sales growth.
