Ever have a spouse ask you how they look? Maybe it was your wife's new dress before date night. Or your husband's new suit before an important day at the office.
Yeah, we've all been there. But how many times have you simply told them what they wanted to hear? And how many times have braved retaliation and offered an honest response?
I've always been a "consequences be damned" kinda guy and typically go with my first reaction. It is, after all, the most honest. Besides, I usually can't help myself.

At any rate, while my frequent brutal honesty could sometimes be delivered with a little more diplomacy, I've found more often than not that people would rather hear the truth – however harsh – than a lie that can turn into something just as cruel.
