Despite the major natural disasters that hit the U.S. in 2011, only 31 percent of business owners say they are extremely or very prepared in the event of extreme weather, according to a recent Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index survey.
Of those surveyed, 46 percent say they are somewhat prepared while over half of respondents at 54 percent say they are not concerned about a disaster affecting their businesses.
The survey asked business owners about their emergency preparedness for major disasters, such as fires, tornadoes and hurricanes as well as seasonal weather events, such as snow, ice and flooding.
