Mercer announced today it's added 10 large-market clients across a broad spectrum of its benefits administration services during the first half of 2011. These wins represent an addition of nearly 200,000 participants to the company.

"I am encouraged with this strong start to 2011 and I anticipate this momentum to continue through the end of 2011," says Jeff Miller, president and group executive of Mercer's outsourcing business.

Seven of the 10 wins are current Mercer outsourcing or consulting clients who have decided to expand their relationship with the company, Miller notes. "The value of bringing together Mercer's capabilities and experience into an integrated client solution is clearly resonating in the marketplace."

Mercer also won five mid-market health and benefits administration clients through the first half of 2011. These wins reflect the company's significant investment and expansion into the H&B mid-market which began during the second half of 2010 and included the acquisition of Innovative Process Administration, the company explains.

"Like all employers, mid-market plan sponsors are struggling with escalating health care costs, increased complexity and health care reform uncertainty," Miller says. "By leveraging our technology and administration platforms as well as Mercer's strong consulting capabilities in the H&B mid-market, we are able to offer a compelling, cost-effective solution that has great appeal to these employers and their distinct needs."
