Seattle voters support paid sick leave

Fifty-two percent of Seattle voters who are likely to participate in the November 2011 election support a type of paid sick leave that is comparable to an ordinance Seattle City Council members are considering tomorrow, according to a new survey by CityFeedback, a division of Survey Analytics LLC.

Fifty-two percent of Seattle voters who are likely to participate in the November 2011 election support a type of paid sick leave that is comparable to an ordinance Seattle City Council members are considering tomorrow, according to a new survey by CityFeedback, a division of Survey Analytics LLC.

The survey question asked, “If a [Seattle City Council] candidate backed a new paid sick leave policy so that employees who work in the city get paid time off when they are sick, would this make you more or less likely to support that candidate?” Of the respondents, only 22 percent say they are not in favor of a candidate with this view.
