HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii is receiving $2.9 million from the federal government to help improve job opportunities for disabled adults.
The state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations said Thursday that Hawaii is one of seven states that received grants under the Disability Employment Initiative. The states received $21 million altogether.
Department Director Dwight Takamine says the grant will allow the state to work with community and other government agencies to create a streamlined path to employment for people with disabilities.
