NEW YORK (AP) — Total U.S. money market mutual fund assets fell $2.95 billion to $2.636 trillion for the week that ended Wednesday, the Investment Company Institute said Thursday.
Assets of the nation's retail money market mutual funds rose $3.21 billion to $945.35 billion, the Washington-based mutual fund trade group said. Assets of taxable money market funds in the retail category rose $2.9 billion to $751.88 billion. Tax-exempt retail fund assets rose $310 million to $193.47 billion.
Meanwhile, assets of institutional money market funds fell $6.16 billion to $1.691 trillion. Among institutional funds, taxable money market fund assets fell $5.6 billion to $1.594 trillion; assets of tax-exempt funds fell $550 million to $97.13 billion.
