A survey conducted by AARP finds an overwhelming number of Idahoans are ready for a change when it comes to health insurance. About 80 percent say they are in favor of a state health insurance exchange.
According to the survey, 77 percent of people who identify themselves as Republicans, and 78 percent of self-described Democrats, favor an exchange.
Thirteen percent of those surveyed said they do not have health insurance—mainly because premiums were too expensive.

Still, the stats for those who were insured weren't great, either: 40 percent said they put off seeing a doctor in order to pay their premium; 22 percent said they delayed getting a prescription filled and 33 percent reported cutting back on food, clothing or housing expenses because of tight expenses.
The survey was conducted among a group of voters between the ages of 30 and 64.
