In a move that's already outraged those on the right while eliciting little more than shrugs from the left, President Obama will not address the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in tonight's State of the Union address.

A leaked talking points memo out of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs indicates a huge chunk of the president's fourth annual speech will focus on the economy and jobs and the military withdrawal from Iraq.

Nowhere is there any mention of health care or health reform, which sent Chris Jacobs, a health policy analyst and blogger for the National Center for Policy Analysis, into fits.

"In other words, fewer than two years after signing a 2700-page law the White House dubbed 'historic,' and others have called 'majestic,' the White House is apparently afraid to spend even one ounce of political capital defending or promoting the measure in its prime agenda-setting opportunity for the entire year," Jacobs wrote.

And while other more mainstream sites – such as Politico and the Chicago Sun-Times – made no mention of the omission, it's a big year for the landmark legislation and most would expect some mention of it in what could be the president's farewell State of the Union address.
