The U.S. Department of Labor's Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, also known as the ERISA Advisory Council, will meet Tuesday, March 13, at Labor Department Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The meeting, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. EDT, is to welcome new members, introduce the council chair and vice chair, receive an update from Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employee Benefits Security Phyllis C. Borzi and determine the topics to be addressed by the council in 2012.

The meeting is open to the public. Organizations or individuals who wish to address the council or submit a written statement should email the council's executive secretary, Larry Good, by March 6.

The ERISA Advisory Council consists of 15 members appointed to staggered three-year terms by the secretary of labor. The members represent the general public, employers and employee organizations, as well as the fields of insurance, corporate trust, investment management, investment counseling, accounting and actuarial counseling.
