DOL creates video outlining participant 401(k) fee disclosures

The DOL has come out with its own consumer-oriented video alerting participants to the upcoming wave of 401(k) fee disclosures.

It may be old news to people in the retirement industry, but for the common consumer, the new range of Department of Labor-mandated 401(k) fee disclosures will be a big change – one they may not be expecting, or have any ability to interpret and act upon.

The DOL's own effort at consumer education includes a new video that highlights some of the changes and the information to be included in the disclosures; DOL Secretary Hilda L. Solis also provides a video introduction to the issue on the DOL's website.
