The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company is a supporter of The Long Road Home Project—a 90-day cross-country bike ride to raise money and awareness for military veterans transitioning back to civilian life.

On July 15, five military veterans began the bike ride from Aberdeen, Wash., to Washington, D.C. The veterans will pedal through 12 states and cover more than 4,000 miles on their journey.

Last spring, Penn Mutual gifted The American College, based in Bryn Mawr, Pa., with $2.5 million to create the scholarship program, which gives veterans the opportunity to pursue financial services designations or a master's degree.
