Mercer is ranked No. 1 in human resources consulting in the Consulting Practice Area Rankings, the latest survey of more than 5,000 practicing consultants by Vault.com, a provider of career-planning research for professionals and recent graduates.

When compiling the responses, Vault asked currently practicing consultants to select up to three firms outside of their own that they believe are the best regarding HR consulting, management consulting, economic consulting and energy consulting. For economic consulting, Mercer's affiliate, NERA, which is also a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, comes in at the top spot.
