With just hours left to go until Election Day is over, at least one vote is in: Small businesses choose Republican contender Mitt Romney.

A poll by Direct Capital, a nationwide provider of business financing, shows small businesses continue to support the former Massachusetts governor over President Obama.

The poll, which collected responses from 2,616 small businesses across the United States, shows Romney with a 72 percent to 28 percent edge over incumbent President Barack Obama.

Though Commonwealth Fund researchers have argued Obama's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will help small businesses by offering them premium tax credits and by granting subsidies to many uninsured small business workers toward their purchase of health insurance beginning in 2014, most small business owners have argued otherwise.

Many say the Obama administration's regulations have hurt small businesses and the law has burdened them while raising taxes.
