In an effort to continue assisting about 320 workers impacted by the closure of Evergreen Solar Inc. in Devens and Marlborough, Mass., the U.S. Department of Labor is distributing a $408,403 National Emergency Grant increment.

"The former workers of Evergreen Solar continue to face significant obstacles in finding good jobs in their region," says Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis. "This funding will make it possible for these workers to receive training and reemployment services to help them find good jobs."

The DOL first released $329,776 of the $738,179 grant to the Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development Jan. 6, 2012. This new incremental funding of $408,403 completes the total amount allotted for this grant, which offers assistance to those workers along with services from their eligibility for Trade Adjustment Assistance benefits.
