DOL extends grant for Mass. workers affected by layoffs

In an effort to continue assisting about 320 workers impacted by the closure of Evergreen Solar Inc. in Devens and Marlborough, Mass., the U.S. Department of Labor is distributing a $408,403 National Emergency Grant increment.

In an effort to continue assisting about 320 workers impacted by the closure of Evergreen Solar Inc. in Devens and Marlborough, Mass., the U.S. Department of Labor is distributing a $408,403 National Emergency Grant increment.

“The former workers of Evergreen Solar continue to face significant obstacles in finding good jobs in their region,” says Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis. “This funding will make it possible for these workers to receive training and reemployment services to help them find good jobs.”
