LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is asking several city pension programs to end their investments in corporations that manufacture firearms, ammunition or high-capacity ammunition magazines.

The mayor sent a letter Wednesday to the Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles City Employee Retirement System and the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions.

Villaraigosa says he wants LA to stop investing in companies that put military-grade weapons on city streets.
