With health reform's first health coverage enrollment period just nine months away, supporters of President Obama's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act are gearing up for a major push to get Americans to take advantage of the major component of the law.
Newly formed advocacy group Enroll America recently launched a major national enrollment campaign to reach out to as many uninsured Americans as possible to get them to buy private insurance through newly created exchanges as part of reform.
Open enrollment in state and federal health care exchanges begins Oct. 1, while exchanges are scheduled to begin operating Jan. 1.

Enroll America said it has created partnerships with dozens of groups representing insurers, hospitals, community health centers and pharmaceutical companies. The group also has partnered with various community and civic organizations.
Its campaign will include online organizing, grassroots outreach, data analytics and paid advertising, they said.
The effort is led by newly appointed president Anne Filipic, an Obama campaign veteran who most recently served as deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
"Millions of uninsured Americans stand to benefit from the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. But they won't get enrolled unless they know about it," Filipec says. "I look forward to creating an innovative and effective campaign employing cutting-edge engagement strategies to ensure its success."
The Department of Health and Human Services also has begun to market the exchanges. Last week the department announced its relaunch of healthcare.gov, a website aimed at informing consumers about the health reform law while giving them a place to purchase insurance. The website will be part of HHS's efforts in the coming year to market the new exchanges as the deadline looms.
Enroll America is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization whose mission "is to ensure that all Americans are enrolled in and retain health coverage."
