The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans announced Tuesday they are launching ACA University, a virtual education center to help professionals navigate the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

The announcement comes as the foundation marks National Employee Benefits Day April 2.

The interactive center aims to help the foundation's 33,000 members face the quickly changing health care landscape.

"ACA University gives our members a single source for all the essential information needed to work through the changes ACA will bring to our industry, our members' daily responsibilities and the future of health care in our country," says International Foundation CEO Michael Wilson.

Though many resources and benefits provided by ACA University are exclusive to members, the foundation offers free materials available to anyone, including a glossary of terms, health reform timeline and fact sheets.

National Employee Benefits Day was created in 2004 by the International Foundation and is celebrated annually each April, commemorating the date the International Foundation was established.

It's a day that "acknowledges administrators, corporate benefits practitioners and professional advisors for their dedication to providing quality benefits and the important role they play in their colleagues' well-being."

IFEBP said this year's focus is on PPACA, as employers need to focus on the legislation's impact, especially as the bulk of the law goes into effect in 2014.
