Based on demographics, employee assistance programs can vary by use, according to a new ComPsych Corp. survey that looks at gender, age and industry differences across millions of EAP and work-life calls for a year.

Though it may come as a surprise, men rely on relationship counseling more than women at 22 percent vs. 18 percent, the survey finds.

Employees in their 20s most often call for alcohol and chemical dependency problems with men being nearly five times as likely to call for those same issues.
