SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A bill to collect a new licensing fee from Illinois hospitals to improve patient safety may be on its way back to the House floor.
Illinois Department of Public Health Deputy Director David Carvalho says some House lawmakers may not have understood that the Illinois Hospital Association supports the bill when they voted it down Sunday.
Belleville Democrat Jay Hoffman has filed a motion to reconsider that vote.
