Digital Insurance in on an acquisitions tear.
The national employee benefits insurer announced the purchase of Washington-based employee benefits firm Berg Andonian, which currently operates as an arm of Digital Benefit Advisors, a division of Digital Insurance.
Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition is the eighth in the last 12 months for Digital Insurance. Prior to the Berg Andonian deal, it gobbled up (in chronological order):
- Fallick Insurance Services of Mountain View, Calif.
- Group Brokerage Insurance Agency of Cambridge, Mass.
- Benefit Services & Design (BSD) of Raleigh, N. C.
- Tennessee's Capital Benefits Group
- Health Star Consulting of Clayton, Mo
- First Benefit Partners in Knoxville, TN
- DSG Benefits Group in Dallas
Digital Insurance also struck an alliance last August with Minnesota-based Bremer Financial Corp. to manage its health insurance and employee benefits programs. Bremer handles insurance for employers and individuals in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Digital's latest acquisition was designed to strengthen its business in the South Puget Sound area between Seattle and Tacoma, the company said. Berg Andonian's co-founders Joe Berg and Kirk Andonian will join DBA as part of the transaction.
With its 10-person staff, the company serves 165 employers, such as school districts, hospitals and country governments, and 1,500 individuals. According to its website, it's the third largest agency of its type in its region.
