Companies that don't track the potential impact on their business of employee retirements may be in for a shock.

With baby boomers facing the retire/don't retire decision point, a study by outplacement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas warns that corporate plans based on the "don't retire" scenario could fall apart.

The study was designed to look into how well prepared companies are in the event that more boomers decide to leave their jobs than managers had anticipated.
