The IRS scandal lives on. Sort of.
The GOP-led House set a vote for next month on holding former IRS official Lois Lerner in contempt, according to The Hill, based on an internal Eric Cantor, R-Va., memo.
The Tea Party effort against the former tax-exempt department chief is based on their contention that Lerner's statement to the House effectively waived the Fifth Amendment defense she invoked immediately afterward, according to the report.

The House originally called Lerner to testify in the wake of revelations the IRS unfairly targeted the tax-exempt status of various Tea Party groups.
And while that same memo outlined several initiatives the party planned to take up this summer, any hint of PPACA repeal, reform or rewrite was noticeably absent.
It's also worth pointing out, as the Hill story does, that all the House vote would do (if it actually passed) would be to send the contempt accusation to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who would almost certainly refuse to act on it.
